MOVING UP A GEAR
During the 60s Albert and Ev, honed their skills and provided good quality poultry to butchers in East Anglia and Smithfield Market in London. A true family business was emerging as sons Tony and Tim Harvey helped around the farm from a young age .
THE EARLY DAYS
Albert Harvey (Bertie) born in 1931 to cattle dealing parents from Flordon in Norfolk was drawn to poultry services from a young age. After marrying his wife, Ev, they purchased Beech Farm, Bunwell in 1956, the location of the business still today.
LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON
Tim officially joins the business in 1977. Working across all areas of the business from production to deliveries. As the business grows so does the Harvey family.
FROM BROILER TO BOILER
With the emergence of supermarkets and the decline of local butcher shops, Albert and Tim moved from broiler processing to solely end of lay hens.

NEW BEGINNINGS
With the need for modernisation and the increase in demand, Tim embarked on the journey of developing a new factory capable of processing 15,000 birds a day. Over time, employment increased by 50% at the site, with Tom officially joining the business in 2000.
INVESTING IN TECHNOLOGY
A.D. Harvey propelled to the forefront of end of lay production. New technologies were installed improving bird welfare further as a CAS system was installed in 2007. The factory expanded further in 2009 with larger refrigeration and dry goods stores.
A GROWING TEAM
Demand for the A.D. Harvey brand saw an increase of investment across all areas of the business. Staffing levels had increased by 100%. A.D. Harvey now employed all depopulation team personnel directly. Refrigerated deliveries were once again undertaken by the team. Alongside this Adam returned to work with his Grandfather, Father and Brother in 2012.
FURTHER ACCREDITATIONS
In 2015 a new HGV vehicle workshop opened, maintaining the expansive A.D. Harvey fleet but also providing a service for others. BRC Accreditation achieved throughout the business, assisting in the emergence of new cut products by the business.
PRESENT DAY
A new live bird receipt area and waste handling facility was constructed. This improved biosecurity and welfare of all poultry on site, whilst also improving the local environment.
